YouTube Shorts gets better, brings in a cleaner, more intuitive experience

YouTube Shorts new features

Since launch, YouTube shorts has emerged as a prime mode of entertainment for viewers. Over the time, the viewers have addressed several issues in the YouTube short-form videos and have suggested the scope of improvements. And now the company has finally worked on few YouTube shorts new features to bring in a cleaner, and more intuitive experience. In an official blog on Thursday, the Google owned platform has announced to roll few new updates that the users will experience over the time. These new features include a “Clear Screen Mode”, “Speed Settings” and “Removal of the Dislike Button” which will be replaced by the feature to like posts with a heart. Let’s check in details.

Clear Screen Mode

Earlier, the viewers used to watch videos with overlays that include icons and texts. In the new updates, the viewers will get to see a Clear Screen Mode that will temporarily hide all such disturbing elements.  This will give the viewers a more immersive and distraction-free viewing experience.

Speed Settings

The speed settings have been one of the most requested features by the YouTube Shorts community since long to which the company has finally found a solution. Now the viewers will be allowed to double the Playback speed on a short to absorb information quickly and find their favorite part faster. And if by chance you don’t have the volume ON, you can pause the screen to find the volume icon and adjust volume by tapping on the volume icon.

❤️ Icon for instead of Thumbs-up

To shape a better feed for the viewers, YouTube has adopted some more precise controls. First of all, YouTube will be removing the dislike button and start showing “Not Interested” and “Don’t recommend this channel” buttons to fine-tune viewers feeds. Besides, the thumbs-up option will no more be seen below shorts videos and users can use the ❤️ icon instead to express their likes for the videos that connect.
